Ocean Shores Haus ↓
At Happy Haus we believe that your home should be your sanctuary. The positive impact that a well-designed home can have on your quality of life is evident in the outcome achieved for our clients, Kim and Bob.
Ocean Shores Haus has done just this and goes beyond creating a beautiful beach haus on a very special site. It has changed their lifestyle for good. Originally intended to be an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, the home has now become our clients primary residence where they choose to spend the majority of their time.
After purchasing this rare beachfront site, they approached Happy Haus with the brief of designing a robust, minimalist beach house where they could slow down and connect with the surrounding nature.
The site was not without its challenges. Due to the location and surrounding vegetation and bush fire risk HH managed a team of consultants to ensure the home was designed to not only respond to these challenges but turn them into key advantages of the homes' design.
Lightweight concrete and brick were selected not only as a response to the bush fire risk but also as a palette that offers durability, strength and optimal thermal comfort on hot summer days and cool winter mornings.
Ocean Shores Haus is based on an ‘L’ shaped plan with soft building edges and quiet corners, that create an amazing connection to the surrounding garden. The home that adapts from two people in downtime to 10 when it's family time.
This very special site has met our clients needs perfectly, whilst straddling an extensive area of protected bush land and beach, the home creates an escape from urban life, a sanctuary.
"Everything flows so well and feels so much bigger than it is. It’s the perfect holiday home for us; it’s all we hoped for and then some. We've had all the kids here, and the backyard is a sun trap with plenty of spaces for shade and escape. We love it so much that we haven't left since arriving here! It's the best thing we've ever done. Thank you!"
