Residential Project Architect / Design Manager

Happy Haus is currently seeking an Architect / Experienced Graduate / Design Manager to join our design team.

Our newest team member’s major focus will be to work with directly with our clients and internal teams, guiding the design process; where ideas, cost and delivery share equal standing.

This will include three major project types:

  • Refining and adapting the existing Happy Haus design range to suit site and client requirements
  • Design lead and project management of Happy Haus custom homes
  • Development of new Happy Haus design ranges.

Areas of expertise that we will be calling on include, but are not limited to:

  • Producing drawings by hand and CAD (Revit) at the various stages of design and documentation process
  • Manage clients, consultants and industry partners
  • Resource management on projects to ensure everything runs on time, every time
  • Attend site throughout construction, as required.

To effectively perform in the role, the following core competencies are essential:

  • Be an Architect or Architecture Graduate with 5+ years’ work experience in residential architecture in Australia
  • Be an excellent documenter, coordinator and communicator
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of Revit (highly proficient)
  • Be a reliable and collaborative team participant and have a methodical and organized approach to work tasks
  • Experience in managing the design process including master planning, schematic design, town planning, design development, contract documentation, building approvals
  • Have an applied knowledge of Australian construction codes and legislation
  • Have experience in residential design and project management
  • An understanding of the cost of construction and balancing the ideas vs budget constraints.

In addition, the following skills and experience will be looked on favourably:

  • Business development (in conjunction with the Managing Director)
  • Practice Management
  • Experience in the use of a range of other computer applications (ie Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Rendering using Lumion.

The Role — Project Architect

  • Architect or Experienced Graduate (5+ years of residential experience)

Draftsperson

Happy Haus is currently seeking a Draftsperson, with a minimum two years’ experience, to join the design team. The role will be primarily responsible for the documentation and delivery of specific architectural projects within our design framework, working closely with the team of Project Architect and Project Draftsperson.

Our newest team member’s duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Production of CAD (Revit) drawings at the various stages of design and documentation process
  • Creation of architectural schedules
  • Coordination third party consultant information in to drawing packages
  • Attend site throughout construction, as required.

To effectively perform in the role, the following core competencies are essential:

  • A minimum qualification of Certificate IV in Building Design
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential drafting in Australia
  • High levels of competence in producing CAD drawings (Revit) and a working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Excellent understanding of relevant Australian construction codes and legislation
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • High levels of personal time management to ensure everything runs on time, every time
  • Previous work within a Quality Assurance framework.
  • Be an excellent communicator
  • Be a reliable and collaborative team participant and have a methodical and organized approach to work tasks.

In addition, the following skills and experience will be looked on favourably:

  • Experience in the use of a range of other computer applications (ie Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Experience in the production of renders using Lumion.
